EPL, Backed by Blackstone, Appoints Anand Kripalu as Managing Director and Global CEO

Bombay: EPL Ltd announced on Friday that its board of directors has appointed Anand Kripalu as the company’s managing director and global managing director, effective August 18, 2021.

Anand has over 30 years of experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry. Prior to joining EPL, Anand spent seven years as Managing Director and CEO of Diageo India, and also a member of Diageo’s Global Executive Committee. His leadership approach and focus has helped grow businesses and brands through innovation, sales transformation, productivity, with the right structure, the right talent and the right culture.

Prior to joining Diageo, Anand spent nearly eight years at Mondelez International (previously Cadbury) as President of the India and South East Asia business, where he played a key role in leading Mondelez following the acquisition of Cadbury by Kraft in India.

Previously, he spent 22 years with the Unilever group where he held various management positions in sales and marketing.

Anand received his Bachelor of Technology in Electronics from IIT, Madras. He holds an MBA from IIM, Calcutta, where he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program from Wharton Business School.

In a separate file, EPL informs that Sudhanshu Vats has resigned as director, CEO and managing director effective August 31, 2021 and will also cease as key management personnel in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Companies Act 2013.

EPL is the world’s largest specialty packaging company, manufacturing laminated plastic tubes for the FMCG and Pharma space, employing more than 3,366 people representing more than 25 different nationalities.
