Kozhikode: leading visual designer and Manorama malayala the 52-year-old former design coordinator Anoop Ramakrishnan, of “Sarovaram” in Pavangad, is no more.

He was Director and Creative Director of Mindway Design. He was instrumental in experimenting with new techniques in newspaper design, typography and graphic design. He has made very notable contributions in the areas of multimedia and media branding. He also worked as a senior engineer at Infosys and a design engineer at Silver Sign.

After completing his B.Tech from Kannur Government Engineering College, he graduated in Visual Communication from IIT Mumbai.

The book edited by Anoop, “MT, Anubhavangalude Pusthakam” illustrates in detail the creative and cinematic life led by author MT Vasudevan Nair. CD-ROMs such as “MT’s World” and “Ente Malayalam” released by Manorama malayala under his leadership were well received. He has received the Young Talent Award instituted by the Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, the Best of Indian News Design Award awarded by the Indian section of the US-based Society for New Design (SND) and the scholarship instituted by Kerala Chalachitra Academy. as part of the 90th anniversary of Malayalam cinema.

He was the son of Puthenveetil Ramakrishnan, retired senior administrator of DPI, and Gladis Ramakrishnan, retired teacher at Malabar Christian College. Kojikode. His wife Meena Anoop is an Assistant Executive Engineer at KSEB. More A Shivakami student is his daughter.
