Students who have completed the JEE Mains and wish to be admitted to undergraduate courses may soon apply for Joint Admission Counseling (JAC). A total of 6,212 places are offered by engineering schools in Delhi. Admissions to five participating institutions are to be awarded through the JAC Delhi Board.
Participating institutes include Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indira Gandhi Technical University of Delhi for Women (IGDTUW), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIITD), University of Technology Netaji Subhas (NSUT) and Delhi University of Skills and Entrepreneurship (DSEU). For the B.Arch program offered by IGDTUW, there will be separate counseling by IGDTUW.
As per the rules, 85 percent of the seats at all participating institutions are reserved for applicants belonging to the Delhi region, while 15 percent are reserved for students from outside Delhi. There is no age limit to apply for admission. Applicants will also be required to pay a registration and counseling fee of Rs 1500, additional fees will apply.
This year, however, the rules could change. “Due to the situation in the country, there has been a change in the counseling procedure and the counseling schedule. In the event of other unavoidable changes to the counseling procedure and timing, these will be made available on the JAC Delhi website www.jacdelhi.nic.in, ”the official notice states.
The dates and timing of the consultations have not yet been released, however, the website has been launched.
