Bombay (Maharashtra) [India]March 4 (ANI/NewsSee): With the buzz surrounding the promotion of electric vehicles, many students, especially from engineering schools, are strong believers in the development.
To help better understand the process of electric vehicle conversions, retrofits, components and more, Shrikant Shinde Founder and Managing Director GoGoA1 spoke to enthusiastic engineering students at Bharti Vidyapeeth Institute of Technology to Navi Mumbai to help them grasp the intricacies of India’s EV future.
He spoke to graduate and graduate students who want to pursue a future in the electric vehicle industry or who want to become entrepreneurs and create more job opportunities in the field. The informal session was attended by Prof. PN Tandon – Director of Bharti Vidyapeeth Institute of Technology, Prof. JK Patil, HOD Mechanical Engineering (BVIT) and Prof. SW Sawant Ex-HOD Electronics & Telecommunications (BVIT).
The inspirational session was an attempt to bridge the gap between academics and the electric vehicle industry and to educate the new group of students about the many opportunities that arise in the industry. At present, governments are promoting the electric vehicle industry and we are on the verge of generating a properly trained and competent support system that can implement futuristic ideas and concepts beneficial to the environment. and industry. Together with Bharti Vidyapeeth, GoGoA1 plans to create an EV club that will help align the careers of engineering students for the EV industry and produce young entrepreneurs and a talent pool ready for the EV industry.
While interacting with the students, Shrikant Shinde shared, “Engineers are the foundation of all development in the world. The electric vehicle industry is at a nascent stage and now is a good time for engineering students to be part of this developing segment. this new generation of entrepreneurs or industry specialists, GoGoA1 can create an atmosphere conducive to the creation of ready-made specialists and entrepreneurs with their own electric vehicle start-up before graduating from university .Collaborating with an illustrious institute like Bharti Vidyapeeth, especially for their emerging trends program shows the institute’s readiness for positive change to help the entire industry.”
Director of the Bharti Vidyapeeth Institute of Technology, Prof. PN Tandon added: “Working partnership with industry is key to understanding the needs, so that we can train our students to meet the demands of n’ any particular segment, be it mechanical, electrical, civil, etc. As you well know, the measure taken by the government to promote the ecosystem of electric vehicles, and we hope that with a memorandum of understanding with GoGoA1 in the near future, we can create a workforce ready for electric vehicles with developed and improved skills to solve any problem that may arise in the electric vehicle sector. »

In addition to training budding entrepreneurs at their state-of-the-art training center in Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), GoGoA1 has already established an EV training program at leading educational institutes such as GH Raisoni College of Engineering, JSPM ( Pune), Kohinoor Technical, AP Shah College (Thane) and Vishwaniketan. Over the decade, GoGoA1 has trained thousands of budding entrepreneurs and electric vehicle professionals across the country.
Speaking about the state government’s EV policies, Shrikant Shinde further said, “Upgrading existing vehicles with EV conversion kit is a smarter decision in today’s scenario and it should be part of the policies Government EV for faster EV adoption New EV vehicles receive subsidies, despite being sold at higher rates.
But on the other hand, the GST and high taxes on the manufacturing of retrofit kits and components lower the demand. with the necessary changes to EV policies, kit prices will drop and be within reach of the common man. As the country moves towards full adoption of electric vehicles by 2030, this module will work in favor of public transport, local transport, fleet owners, delivery personnel, logistics, etc., for adopt a green policy in the near future.”
GoGoA1 has worked diligently to approve the conversion of existing ICE vehicles to electric vehicles. They were recently incorporated by the Delhi government to upgrade Hero Splendor bikes and convert them into e-bikes. The company plans to release conversion kits for more 2- and 3-wheel models along with a locally built interchangeable battery system that will significantly reduce the cost of the EV conversion kit by March 2022, followed by 4-wheelers and utility vehicles over the next fiscal year.
Launched in 2011, Mumbai-based GoGoA1 was in the business of supplying EV components to students at IITs and other engineering colleges. In 2019, pooling all the experience thus gained in the industry, the bootstrapped start-up launched the first of its product – a retrofit conversion kit that could turn a gasoline-powered motorcycle into an electric motorcycle. Conversion kits are ARAI approved and RTO authorized.
