Path Robotics Expands Headquarters and Production Operations in Columbus Area, Creating 140 New Jobs

Path Robotics, a Columbus-based artificial intelligence (AI) robotics company producing the world’s first truly autonomous robotic manufacturing system, has announced plans to expand its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, creating 140 new jobs. Hiring for Software Development, Engineering and Product Development positions is ongoing.

Path Robotics plans to increase staff across Columbus both at its existing facility at 524 Maier Place, as well as at its additional facilities at 3950 Business Park Drive. Most of the company’s substantial growth will occur downtown at Maier Place, with some of its growth occurring at its new secondary location. With a rapidly growing domestic customer base, the company is rapidly increasing its production capacity and staff in the region in order to meet market demand.

“Path Robotics is about to experience significant new growth. Strengthening our workforce in Columbus allows us to accelerate our innovation and production, ”said Andrew Lonsberry, CEO of Path Robotics. “The region’s strong talent pool, coupled with its forward-looking manufacturing industry, make Columbus the ideal environment to host the long-term growth of our business and help us serve our innovative clients in the areas of manufacturing and welding. “

Path’s autonomous robots solve the world’s toughest manufacturing challenges with no coding required, starting with autonomous welding. The company is partnering with local manufacturers who are struggling to find skilled workers, allowing them to thrive in the resurgence of this critical industry. Using proprietary computer vision and artificial intelligence, Path’s system sees what’s in front of it, understands what it’s supposed to do, and welds the product together with the push of a button. Earlier this year, the company received $ 56 million in Series B funding, bringing the total investment in Path Robotics to $ 71 million.

“Beneath what they’ve built so far lies a truly remarkable technology,” said Nick Solaro, Partner of Drive Capital, one of Path Robotics’ early investors. “Path Robotics is software that knows how to acquire extremely complex skills, with little or no human intervention. Starting with welding was smart, but we believe there is so much more the system can do to change manufacturing.

“Path Robotics’ groundbreaking product and recent growth is a perfect example of our incredible corporate atmosphere and our ability to fuel local innovation,” said Columbus City Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “We are delighted that the company is optimistic about our community and is tripling its Columbus-based workforce to grow.”

The Columbus area is home to more than 1,700 manufacturing facilities with nearly 90,000 employees, representing annual economic output of more than $ 15 billion. Alongside traditional industry giants, the next generation of visionary leaders are emerging with new products for the modern consumer, spanning industries from automotive and electronics to machinery, materials, aerospace and consumer goods. The city of Columbus is located in Franklin County, which has a population of approximately 1,316,756.

“Artificial intelligence is transforming manufacturing technologies and efficiency around the world, and Ohio is leading the way,” said JobsOhio President and CEO JP Nauseef. “As a local Columbus-area company, Path Robotics continues to expand production, testing and product development that will advance this evolving space with the talent and creativity found here in the world. ‘Ohio. “
