South Korean Universities to Consider for International Students

South Korea – neighboring Japan – is one of the most diverse and exciting countries to study as an international student. For starters, this East Asian country is world famous for many things, from food like bibimbap to iconic K-pop artists and bands like BLACKPINK to his Highly Watched K-Dramas like “The Penthouse”.

Apart from the famous entertainment industry, South Korea is also known as one of the most innovative countries in the world and is home to famous conglomerates such as Samsung and Hyundai.

Seoul National University

First on our list of South Korean universities for international students is Seoul National University (SNU), which has been founded in 1946.

Its graduates have become leaders in Korean society and in the international community. In 2017, for example, one in four CEOs of Korea’s 100 largest corporations and 72% of Supreme Court justices were SNU alumni. Nearly 60% of government ministers and around half of National Assembly members were also UNS alumni in 2017.

SNU has four campuses, including two in the heart of Seoul – in Gawnak and Jongno.

Korea Graduate Institute of Science and Technology

As a public research university, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) currently enrolls around 10,000 students. It is also the the first research-oriented scientific and technical institution in the country; many of its programs are STEM-focused.

Korea University
