Rev.com, a provider of artificial intelligence-based voice-to-text transcription services, is stepping up its presence in Austin.
Opportunity Austin, an economic growth initiative of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, announced on March 24 that Rev.com is expanding its workforce in Austin with the addition of 130 employees by the end of this year. The company currently employs 130 people in Austin. The departments Rev.com hires include engineering, products, marketing, and sales.
Based in San Francisco Rev.com occupies more than 14,000 square feet of office space at Hartland Plaza, which is located at West Sixth Street and MoPac Expressway.
“As the world’s leading text-to-speech service, Rev is part of a growing technology sector in Austin, where companies with innovative leaders work with AI to find solutions for businesses and individuals,” Charisse Bodisch, senior vice president of economic development at the Austin chamber, said in a Press release.
Austin serves as the second headquarters for Rev.com, and the CEO of the company says Austin’s quality of life and innovative spirit are the main reasons he initially chose the city and continues to seek his growth here. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has added 61 workers in Austin and leased an additional 1,641 square feet of office space to accommodate them.
“Being able to continue to grow even in the midst of a pandemic is a testament to Austin’s spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship,” says Jason Chicola, CEO of Rev.com.
